Join The Board
AIGA Wisconsin is currently seeking enthusiastic, design-savvy individuals to join the officers board.
The efforts of the AIGA Wisconsin board are critical in supporting the mission of AIGA, as well as defining and achieving the goals and initiatives of AIGA on a local level. AIGA Wisconsin board members play an active role in every aspect of the organization’s success, from contributing ideas and developing relevant programming to serving as design advocates and engaging community participation.
Serving on the officers board can deepen the benefits of your AIGA membership in the following ways:
- Increase awareness of yourself and your company in the local design community
- Plan design events and initiatives
- Gain valuable contacts and resources
- In addition to position-specific duties, all board members must:
- Be willing to serve a one-year term
- Maintain an active AIGA membership at or above the “Emerging” level throughout the term
- Act as a brand steward for our local chapter and national organization
- Attend chapter events as needed
- Attend monthly board meetings if possible
Executive Positions
Sit on the Executive Board and participate in overall Chapter guidance. Lead the Partnership and Sponsorship relationship building strategy. Plan and allocate the annual budget per event, which will be listed on the internal programming calendar. This will also be how the Treasurer recruits Annual Sponsorship. Each Director works directly with the Treasurer to manage and procure funds, whether that money comes from AIGA Wisconsin funds or sponsorship dollars.
Chair Positions
Support recruiting and membership drive initiatives. Assist in executing a member recruitment and retention strategy. Work with the Marketing & Communications team to promote membership. Help organization to maintain an accurate and current local membership list by accessing AIGA membership databases. Create tools to demonstrate the value of an AIGA membership. Work with marketing to craft communications to lapsing members.
Plan Field Trip events around various programming efforts. Field Trips are planned design excursions for members interested in exploring the unique locales and brands of their communities and beyond. Craft communications to venue sponsors and event sponsors if necessary, handle logistics, coordinate volunteers, and work with the Marketing & Communications team to promote the event.
