Home Brewed photos & submissions are up!

AIGA Wisconsin and the Beer Barons of Milwaukee hosted our first ever Home Brewed beer & label competition on Thursday, June 13th at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery. All Wisconsin homebrewers, designers, illustrators, creatives and community members were invited to pair up in teams to create custom craft beer and labels to be entered into the competition. A panel of celebrity judges, including author, designer and homebrewer Randy Mosher, then chose best beer-label coupling based on pairing, creativity and presentation. Attendees were also able to cast their own votes for best of show at the final event itself. The 2013 winners were:

First Place: Road Work Saison (Design: Brett Tomczak, Beer: Steve Parkhill)
Second Place: Pigtail Ale (Design: Gwen Granzow, Beer: Heyward Gualandi)
Third Place: Honey Weiss Wheat (Design: Cory Zimmermann, Beer: ZwoodHill)
Popular Vote: Ryan’s Legacy Hefeweizen (Design: Natalie LeRoy, Beer: Mino Choi)

The whole shindig was a lot of fun, and everyone got to share in some very tasty beer… and design! Be sure to check out the Flickr photostream here, as well as all submissions themselves in the event gallery here. Thank you to all participants, sponsors, volunteers and attendees who worked to make this event a success.
