Join AIGA Wisconsin at OPEN MiKE as we sit down to talk with local creatives Tarik Moody, DeChazier Stokes-Johnson, Nate Pyper and Xavier Ruffin. Read on below to learn more about these amazing Milwaukeeans!

Tarik Moody graduated from Howard University’s School Of Architecture in 1996 and practiced architecture in Detroit and Minneapolis. While doing so, he became involved with a local community radio station and eventually became co-host of one of the station’s long-running shows. Tarik made the leap from architecture to radio, and now works as the evening music host and digital / online community manager for 88Nine RadioMilwaukee. He hosts the award-winning Rhythm Lab Radio, and still has a passion for architecture and design.

DeChazier Stokes-Johnson started Black-Marmalade Studios in 2004 as a change of pace from the sometimes static life of being an advertising agency art director. Since then, DeChazier has designed and illustrated for some of today's top brands. He is a proud family man, art director, observer of creative culture and entrepreneur, in that order. By day, DeChazier works for JWD-Creative. By night, he lets loose for Black-Marmalade Studios and is an editor for Yes Yes Y'all music project.

Nate Pyper is a recent MIAD grad and midwest native with a big heart for thought-provoking, responsible design. He had interned and is now currently working at the Milwaukee Art Museum as a junior graphic designer.

Xavier Ruffin graduated from MIAD in 2010 and has a background in both communication design and business. He is currently the president at Dopamine Productions and senior art director at XR Creative LLC. Xavier's projects range from video, animation and motion graphics to photography and design. He strives to meet his potential in every project, every video, every design, everyday.
